Russian Hill Locations with Hank

This neighborhood is called Russian Hill because graves with Slavic-language writing were found at the hilltop in the mid-1800s. It was thought that they belonged to Russian fur traders or sailors from the early 19th century. It is very steep, which gives it some of the best views in the city. The first residents here were builders and architects, which means the houses are beautiful and diverse. You will see the earliest arts and crafts shingle-style houses in San Francisco and some beautifully eccentric Victorians among others.
