Mary Ellen Pleasant Memorial Park

These eucalyptus trees are all that remains of the palatial mansion that Mary Ellen Pleasant, America's first female self-made Black millionaire and mother of Civil Rights in California, built for herself, her partner, and his wife. She planted these trees right before her death in 1904.
