Can you believe this beautiful little street was once full of garbage? People would just toss their trash over the side of the hill . Fortunately Grace Marchant moved here in 1949. She cleaned the area up and (followed by Gary Kray) kept it clean, and planted gardens. Sometimes she got carried away and planted gardens on other people's properties. The Friends of the Garden organization was formed to solve the resulting legal and financial issues and took over the stewardship of this area. Look for a small plaque in Ms. Marchant's honor!
