This 1883 Victorian is the Tanner Family residence where Mary-Kate and Ashley spent their TV childhoods. Many people are confused by the opening sequence, which shows the Tanners picnicking in Alamo Square, but it is over a mile away.
The show and the 2016 reboot Fuller House were actually shot in Burbank due to neighborhood permit restrictions, but handprints of the cast including Bob Saget and John Stamos are said to remain in the back garden as a permanent decoration.
Jeff Franklin, the creator of “Full House” and “Fuller House” bought this house in 2016 and immediately hosted an apology party for all the locals inconvenienced by the fans of the show over the decades. Only thirty or so people came, but when Franklin unveiled his plan to open the house to paid fan experiences the whole neighborhood revolted. The San Francisco Planning Commission sided with them. Disappointed, Jeff Franklin sold the house in 2020.
