Blooming in Fragnance Alley

Chinatown

This mural, conceived by the local schoolchildren and executed by the local mosaic artist Margarita Soyfertis (https://www.mosaicartsf.com) represents the dreams hidden behind Chinatown's doors and windows. The name "Blooming in Fragnance Alley" refers to the name of the street - Hang Ah, or Fragnant, for the perfumery that used to be here. In Chinese this is a pun, since 香 = "aroma" and 巷 = "alley" sound very similar, differing only in tone.
