Tommy's Joynt

Tommy Harris was a teen hearthrob of 1930s SF radio. When he grew up he chose a different way of making people happy. He and his family opened Tommy's Joynt in 1947.Their trademark offerings are turkey and imported beer, of which they boast an enormous selection, but literally anything you order will be good. Lars Ulrich and Kirk Hammett met for the first time nearby. It was in the bathroom of Tommy's Joynt that they and James Hetfield decided to ask Jason Newsted to join Metallica. Going to Tommy's Joynt to drink together was the last part of Newsted's audition. I have not been able to find any proof of the legend that Janice Joplin, who lived next door, was once caught stealing turkey from Tommy's Joynt, but their turkey is so good that I wouldn't blame her.
